I am seeking any information about Thomas Kennedy, Wayne County, NC. He is listed in the 1860 Census, Cross Roads District, Post Office Everettsville. Page no. 60. (Page 510 B on reel) Age 60, farmer. Female listed : Isabella, age 44, Children listed: Jane M. Elliott 9, Isabella Wattering, 9- Mississippi; George F. Kennedy 9, NC, Robert C. Wattering 7-Mississippi; Eliza Caroll, 14, NC; Dinah 12. There are two “Cox” families that were neighbors: Thomas Cox and Isaac Cox. I believe these families were Quakers and that
Thomas Kennedy was also a Quaker. Of the children listed, only one is a Kennedy. Does anyone know who the other children might be and the connection to his home. The primary information I need is the name of this Thomas Kennedy’s wife and his children. Is this the Thomas Kennedy who was married and had four children, if so I can not find them listed. Is this the Thomas Kennedy listed in the J.T. Kennedy Family Bible Records who was the” son of John and Eliza Kennedy and departed this life on Nov. 17th, 1864 in the state of Indiana?” There was a Rev. Thomas Kennedy who was a Quaker conscientious objector that was held in the Salisbury Prison. Is there a connection? I think this Thomas Kennedy was connected to the Neuse River Quaker meeting that I found in a Quaker Index book. Where would be the original records? Any information you have or suggestions I would appreciate.
